This is in response for Joshua West's Imagine
This is one of those writings where you are taken on a roller coaster ride as it goes on. After reading a little bit you never expect to end up where it actually ends. I like that about this piece. It drags you down with the character in the beginning. Almost makes you feel like you have some kind of an emotional connection with him so when he is finally about to fight the father the reader has that "woo hoo" response. But at the end you get dragged back into that dark depressing place.... I like the fact that it gets an emotional response out of me. But I felt like I needed to go eat a gallon of ice cream and watch Disney movies to make myself less depressed when I finished. Which really amuses me because I find the Hannibal-P.S. part at the end absolutely hilarious! Joshua goes from that dark and depressed place to cracking Hannibal the Cannibal jokes. I would like to see the his humor come out in the sister-half-to-come. I think that would help balance out the gloom in the beginning and make the work even more of a dramatic roller coaster ride.
